Assalamualaikum to all parents
Now we are already in June, halfway through the year 2022. Time did fly like in the blink of an eye.
A lot of things have happened in this year. However, most important is that we are in the endemic stage, with most things being back to normal already, Alhamdulillah.
We would like to take this opportunity to update all parents regarding some improvements, some of which have been completed, and some being in progress.
1. Facilities’ improvements
a. Swimming pool in Kuala Terengganu
Alhamdulillah, our swimming pool at Seberang Takir is already fully operating, having been inaugurated in June 2022. All students from branches in Kuala Terengganu can use this facility according to their timetable.
b. Swimming pool in Kerteh
In Sha Allah, the indoor swimming pool at Sri Kerteh Intergrated School will be ready by August 2022. As our Joint Venture partner, we can use this facility with minimum charges.
c. Outdoor Cooking
Starting May 2022, all upper Sri Showme Primary and all Secondary School students have cooking session in their class schedules. Our outdoor cooking facilities can accommodate up to 24 students at one time.
2. Teaching Improvements
a. APTIS
Now all of our Playschool, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School are attending an APTIS training course to improve their command of English. APTIS is an innovative English assessment tool developed by the British Council. It is mandatory for all teachers to take the test and they will be required to pass it with a minimum grade set by Management, according to their level of teaching. This step is taken to maintain the quality of our teaching, especially with regards to our teachers’ proficiency in English.
b. 80 hours of training per year
The Management has decided to re-implement our Training KPI. As such, all Showme team members will undergo 80 hours of training per year to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.
3. Additional activities
a. Scout
Alhamdulillah, our beloved Principal Red has been appointed as Ketua Penolong Pesuruhjaya Pengakap Negeri Terengganu (Sekolah Swasta) in March 2022. In this capacity, Showme will launch ‘BEE SCOUT” which is pengakap in all Showme Kindergarten branches.
Our Primary School also started their Scout program recently. Our Secondary School will be known as Pengakap Laut.
b. Exchange program
Local – we will collaborate with our local partners in Malaysia to exchange teachers/students.
International – we plan to organize students/teachers exchanges with our partners in Australia and Singapore.
